So much for avoiding this conversation entirely; maybe he should have known better, should never have indicated any i n t e r e s t in this first place. If there was anything he had learned about this particular norse god in his encounters with them, it was that they were easily made cautious, such that the slightest hint from another that they were at all out of the ordinary snared their attention and demanded investigation —- hook, line, and sinker.

Well, the cat was out of the bag now,
                      as they say.

                                            ❝ I’ve —— met you before.
                                      Twins, anyway. If that’s
                                                           what you call them.

And suffice to say that no two Loki’s were really entirely the same, despite bearing identical features and an identical name. Some were volatile, aggressive, and downright malicious, to the point where he honestly had to question if they might be better off in an insane asylum somewhere. Others had been almost —- not docile, but agreeable, at least. Though generally they fell more somewhere in the middle.

Either way, ’ good to see you again ’ didn’t
                      quite seem like the right
                                                               sentiment.

Eyes narrowed to scrutinise his company in a combination of budding curiousity and–well, you could say ‘caution’ to the stranger’s explanation. Sinner was well aware that his reputation had earned him much criticism in the past–that he was in disfavour with a couple of twins of whom he had purposefully (and accidentally) distressed. The question remained was to whether this man knew of his notoriety.

Though for now it was safe for the god to presume that the name 'Sinner’ was not one that was familiar on the tongue. After all, if one was to rely on description, one would note the distinctive appearance of himself in comparison to his fellow reflections despite their resemblance. The braids and dissimilar shade of eyes were enough for one to identify him. Although the frankness of the stranger’s response prompted Sinner to think that he had not made the association—-if he knew of him to begin with.

This chanced meeting was as a consequence of good timing and courteous action. Although Sinner was beginning to suspect that this was of some ploy that the Norns had devised for their own amusement. He had anticipated a 'thank you’ and an impromptu departure, but instead their meeting had taken an entirely different and no less surprising turn that left both men in an awkward state between staying and leaving.

         'I see.’

A vague response, but there was little that one could say when disconcertion gnawed at his composure. 'If I am be so bold as to ask of your association with mine fellow twins?’

–An indirect way of asking the man to identify himself although poorly disguised.
